RENT HOUSE:
Didn't get much done today, but I have a good strategy for cleaning the floors.

Change of plans for tomorrow, we're going to take the kids bowling in the evening, so I'll be getting a few less hours in, and I won't be able to take the lumber to the dump.

RENT HOUSE:
Clean up starts tomorrow!.... The half day with the kids/half day without worked well, can't do it tomorrow cause of pizza night (our regular Tues. family dinner) but if it's raining, I'll be cleaning inside, if not, I'll be cutting the grass and moving the wood on the side of the house.

Mosquitoes are bad right now, but we'll work through it.

Going to work on Shocking more tonight, and start writing up the website doc for Scott.

RENT HOUSE:
Didn't work at all on the house this weekend.  The niece is staying with us for a week, and I was just burned out from the work last week.  Going over to the house with the kids after lunch today, and I'll have Elsa pick them up after work.  Should be able to get 8 to 10 hours in today.  Carpeting finished, and most of the floors clean of paint.  I'll do the same the rest of the week, and I'll have the house ready soon...

WEBSITES:  Got the shopping cart site installed at shockingpricecuts.com... I have an 2 albums and a single ready to upload.  I installed it last night and it was working fine, but I messed with some preferences and lost the whole site :(  By the end of the week, I should have a dozen singles and 3 albums for sale.  I have 6 albums planned, and about 150 singles currently available.  There are at least 300 total songs recorded, and many have multiple recordings.  If I release 10 a week, and a newsletter, I should be able to develop some regular traffic.   My goal is to generate about $500/month in sales, with 50% coming to me.

Started the design doc for Scott on paper, have not typed it up yet.

Need to talk to Ben, Scott, Rob, Etc.. about leveraging existing sites for money, I need to compile a list of the current domain inventory.

RENT HOUSE:
Didn't get the floors finished before picking up the niece.  about halfway through the playroom before I had to give up.  Probably 3 to 4 hours left to call the floors finished.

after that I have to clean the hallway and living room floor, paint and hang a few doors, finish painting the cabinets, remove all the painters tape, caulk cracks and bathroom floors, add trim around cabinets, get new AC unit, remove window AC units, touchup paint, clean the whole house, replace locks, cut the grass, remove wood from the backyard, trim trees, fix oven and garbage disposal... and a few more things

Should have the floors and paint completed this weekend.

RENT HOUSE:
I've got the floors finished for 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the hallway/closet.  Still need to complete the kitchen, entry, and master bedroom/closet.  Ug, it's taking sooo long, but at least with the floor, I can see the progress.

Sophia's coming on Thursday, so I need to have the floors finished by Wednesday night and pictures taken even if I have to stay up all night.

I need to talk to Rick's AC guy about replacing the AC unit and then it's just clean up and yard work this weekend.

WEBSITES:
I got the OScommerce site installed on shocking price cuts, but I forgot that their theme scheme is lame, and I think I need to change to a different CMS before I get too far into setting this up.  I want it to be ready to sell by the end of the month, but it's so ugly that I think it's best to move to something that is easier to make look pretty.  I'll be able to do that when Sophia's here.

Talked to Scott about partnering on a site idea.  In the past he's been reticent about committing because of the 2 kids and full time job, but I think I have an idea that would require a minimum of work from him upfront and has the potential of generating $ within a few months.. I told him that I would write up a doc on the site to get an estimation on time to complete.  I researched membership scripts last night and found a few cheap/free ones that might work, more on that later.

PERSONAL:
Went to the last Twang show of the summer last night.  mixed emotions.... the Thursday show was amazing...  This one, uneven, but had some fine moments.  The Cactus is just a bad venue for them.  It sounds funny to say, because they got their start there, but they are at their best when the crowd is on it's feet and moving.  The energy in the Continental felt like it did in Liberty Lunch circa 1990.  The crowd was feeding the band, and the band was playful and jumping.  Lots more to say on this, probably pick it up on it's own post later.

RENT HOUSE:
My week of tile laying has gone slow.  I've only finished three rooms, which leaves five spaces left to complete.  By the end of the day today,  I want to have 2 bathrooms and the kitchen completed.  That will leave the entryway and master to finish, and I should be able to get those two done by Tuesday.

With the floors completed I can start showing it, so I want to start posting ads Tuesday night, then I'll just be rushing to do the final clean up and yard work.

The kids have slowed me down, and Sophia is coming on Thursday, so I won't have much time to work on the house on Thurs/Fri.

Talked to Rick yesterday.  He's going to check in midweek, to talk about how he can help us get it rented.

I'm probably about a week behind where I wanted to be, but the floors make a big difference.

WEIGHT LOSS:
I've lost 5 pounds so far.  Sweating in the rent house and just moving around more has made the difference.  Going to have to keep up the activity after the house is finished.

WEBSITES:
Nothing to report... too tired.  I still think that I can launch 2 sites by the end of the month.

Busy painting weekend.  Got all but a very little bit of it done, tomorrow I start laying in the new tile. 

It's going to be a long week, but I can see it coming together finally.

RENT HOUSE:
Didn't get as much done at the house today.  Got a late start, and Inca had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.  Was able to finish prep on the floors and do a bunch of small things.  Painting tomorrow.

RENT HOUSE:
Cloudy and rainy here today, kept the heat down, but didn't allow me to get the yard work done.

Got a lot of prep in for laying in the floor, but still only made it through half the house.  Tomorrow, I'll finish the rest of the floor prep and maybe the yard work.

Planning on finishing the painting on the weekend and all flooring next week

JOB SEARCH:
Not much out there for me right now.  Searched workingtexas.com and monster.com.  My skill set and personality are really geared toward the startup.  I'm thinking about looking to the VC's and incubators in town as a way to find a better match. 

Had a dentist appointment in the morning.  The dental insurance runs out at the end of the month and we won't get on Elsa's till Sept. 1.   Thought I better get a couple small cavities filled while I have free time and coverage.

Job Search:
 No great job matches yet.  I won't start searching in earnest until the house is ready to rent (2 weeks hopefully), but I've signed up for workinTexas.com and  I'm searching there in the mornings when I get up.

Rent House:
Got some work in today at the old house.  Should get a full day in tomorrow and make some real progress.  Still have to find some carpet supplier... will Google it tonight.

Now it's off to do dishes and make dinner.
